Four hundred years ago, in 1605, a man called Guy Fawkes and a group of plotters attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London with barrels of gunpowder placed in the basement. They wanted to kill King James and the King’s leaders. In celebration of his survival, King James ordered that people of England should have a great bonfire!
This year, Warwick Town Bonfire will be held at Warwick Racecourse on 4th November! The gates open at 5pm, so come and enjoy the hot refreshments and children’s fun area. There will be a small display of fireworks at 6pm for the children followed by the bonfire being lit at 6.30pm, and the main fireworks display at 6.40pm.
Children aged 3 and under are free of charge
