Dan Richmond-Watson

Dan is a chartered surveyor and has been involved in property and minerals for the last 20 years. He farms in Northamptonshire where he lives with his wife, Clare, and two children.

 

Having been a Committee Member at Huntingdon since 2011 he moved to Warwick in 2019.

 

Dan is passionate about racing and comes from a family who are fully immersed in flat racing and have Lawn Stud near Towcester.  He has broken the mould to become involved in National Hunt

NELL BUCKLER

Nell Buckler joined the Warwick Board in 2019. With a degree in Economics and Agricultural  Economics, she assisted her husband with their mixed farm in Dorset and their National Hunt yard for twenty years. Having moved to Gloucestershire she trained point to pointer and hunter chasers. She has been heavily involved in a grant-making charitable trust for forty years and has been a Samaritan involved in the prison service for ten years. Both of Nell's daughters are heavily involved in National Hunt racing.

James Davies

James Davies is the Managing Director of The Wigley Group and has been part of the business for over 12 years. He has directed the company’s growth over the last decade which has involved a significant increase in the group’s property holdings, a dynamic restructure, and a merger of a construction company to add value to the business’ capabilities.

 

Alongside key members of his team, he has also launched a very successful charity fund (Wigley Support Fund) which works within the military sector to help reintegrate veterans into civilian life. To date (2020), over £100,000 has been raised through the fund.

 

With a background in agriculture, rural life and having grown-up around horses, James has a passion for racing/equestrian sport which has always been at the forefront of his hobbies and lifestyle. He owns, with a small group of property professionals, two horses trained by Ben Pauling and enjoys horses at home with his wife, Sarah, and two daughters, Isabella and Matilda.

SIMON SWEETING

Simon Sweeting grew up on a National Hunt stud. He spent his formative years working on stud farms and was assistant trainer for Henry Cecil, Bobby Frankel and Luca Cumani.

 

He returned to the stud side of the business in 2000 and runs Overbury Stud, which currently stands six stallions, both flat and NH including Kayf Tara, the UK’s National Hunt sire.

 

CATHY TWISTON-DAVIES

Cathy became a director at Warwick Racecourse during the 17/18 season. Whilst being involved with Warwick Racecourse, Cathy also drives the community bus and enjoys every aspect of country life. Cathy is mother to Sam and William.

Dermot Daly

 

Dermot Daly joined the Warwick committee in 2019.Following a Short Service Commission in the Army. He spent many years as an Asian stockbroker.

 

He has always had a keen interest in racing. His first job on leaving school was to work for Captain Forster.

 

James Jackson Stops

 

James is a chartered surveyor with extensive experience in both residential and commercial property. He runs a number of businesses related to property investment and development. 

 

James is a passionate national hunt supporter. He rode as an amateur for 10 years competing in point to points and under rules, career highlights included riding in the Champion Hunterchase at Punchestown and completing the Aintree Foxhunters.
